Urban Design and Planning

 Presentation

Today, to meet the safety and sustainable development requirements, the HEQ (High Environmental Quality) and the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) systems, are good reasons to have a climatologic partner. In Meteodyn, we have the excellent expertise in wind assessment so that you can plan your projects accordingly. Thanks to our inovative solutions which add up value to your projects, feel confident in your results, and deliver better projects.

YOU ARE...

An architect, an urban developer, a city planner, a civil engineer, or  working in a design or inspection office, part of a local technical services team or involved in public works...

Meteodyn provides you the best information to make the right decisions:

Optimize the design of your constructions and apply the Eurocodes or the American ASCE7-05
Improve climatic comfort in outdoor spaces: parks, terraces, pedestrian walkways etc.
Reduce energy losses by natural air conditioning, wind-power generation etc.
Ensure the best wind protection for your worksites, urban transport and pedestrian environments

Software Solutions

Meteodyn has developed automatic CFD software to model the wind in complex terrain and urban areas.

Expertise and consulting - Case studies

Pedestrian wind comfort map

Climatic comfort map around the buildings over an area is obtained by integrating comfort criteria and wind statistics into the UrbaWind program.

Wind-induced natural ventilation

Meteodyn can quantify the natural ventilation in the buildings by taking into account the effects of surrounding buildings and integrating the local climatology.

Topography site study

Wind statistics for a given site and time span: the most relevant statistics from the weather service station are transferred to the studied site using the TopoWind software.

Safety analysis

Computation of roughness coefficients and orography in terms of Eurocode 1 or ASCE7-05 for wind-related dimensioning in constructions..
