Meteodyn started in March 2003 along 2 major axes:
Analysis of wind alert systems for the prospection of high speed railway lines (SNCF, Alstom Transport) : TGV-Med and Seoul-Pusan lines.
The development of automatic wind computation programs for wind resource assessment and for wind computation on construction sites (WT, XL). Meteodyn raised significant financing from ADEME and ANVAR to develop these 2 products.
Meteodyn reinforced its position in the domain of wind protection for high speed rail lines.
Started at Meteodyn's initiative, the WEATHER ( Wind Early Alarm for terrestrial Transports Handling the Evaluation of Risks) project is accepted within the framework of the 6th PCRD. Meteodyn is the coordinator. 11 partners take part in this project (including the Polytechnic of Milan and the universities of Birmingham and Nottingham). The purpose is to develop a wind warning system for road and rail.
Meteodyn participated, with LCPC and INRETS, amongst others, in the French transport ministry's IRCAD project (part of the PREDIT programme) for informing road users about weather conditions (rain, wind).
Launch of the first version of meteodyn WT at the European Wind Energy and Conference at London in November 2004.
First license sales for meteodyn WT to major companies involved in the wind energy field : La Compagnie du Vent, Gamesa, Winergy, Neo Energia, EDF-Energies Nouvelles.
Start of consulting activity in the Wind Energy field.
Meteodyn won a very large contract for studies of wind protection for the Madrid-Barcelona line.
First license sales for TopoWind XL for the computation of extreme winds on construction sites.
Start of development of UrbaWind for the automatic computation of wind in urban environments.
The success of meteodyn WT continues : purchased byGarrad Hassan, Enercon, Iberdrola, etc… meteodyn WT is in use in North America, Asia and Oceania.
First wind safety studies on the TGV-East and Rome-Naples line.
Opening of an office in Beijing, with 2 engineers, to cover the Asian market.
Continuation of wind safety studies for the TGV-East line.
As a result of UrbaWind developments, rapid start-up of activity in the Public Works and Urban sectors for comfort studies in outdoor spaces.
Launch of a partnership with Ascomp (Zurich) for instantaneous wind computations (used for point loads on structures, crane dynamics).
Integration of wake effects into meteodyn WT.
Meteodyn wins the bidding for wind mapping and wind energy for the whole PACA region.
Thanks to its new tools (UrbaWind, instantaneous computations) 2008 should see a major breakthrough of Meteodyn into the Urban sectors.
Launch of wind alert systems for the road in collaboration with Geonica (Spain), Campbell Scientific (UK, USA), Nubila (Italy), Atmos and EMI (France).
New functionality for meteodyn WT : multiple masts, post-processing, mesoscale..
